Re: Converting NEFs to DNGs - color balance problems

Thank you Jitendra for your help.  I appreciate it!

@Brett and Jitendra:   This is what I was doing.  I copied a NEF in Bridge, put it in a folder on my desktop, and then imported that folder into the DNG converter.  The NEF which was converted had been given a camera profile in raw (portrait) and the what was happening was that when it was converted to a DNG, the camera profile was not saved in the DNG.  When I opened the DNG in camera raw, it was automatically given an Adobe standard camera profile, and so the NEF and DNG looked totally different because they both had different camera profiles.

When I copied the NEF and XMP from my computer (not Bridge) and put that in a folder on my desk top, and then converted it, the DNG had the same camera profile as the NEF and both looked the same, so I think I was losing the XMP information by coping the NEF from Bridge and using that.

I use CS6 and the Adobe DNG converter.

Does that make sense why the two looked different?  If you can find any other issues with my conversion, please let me know!  Many thanks.
