I have been using an Asus G750JW gaming laptop from two years ago, and it gets decent performance. So has Bill Gehrke , here on this forum. We both had to upgrade the memory to the max we could...which was 24 GB....one memory slot was inaccessible, preventing the installation of the full 32 GB we could have put in. Then, we each installed two SSDs in the machine to get the best performance.
Surprisingly, todays NEW laptops only offer a small increase in CPU speed. Ours turbo up to 3.2 Ghz and the newest skylake CPU will achieve 3.8 Ghz with turbo on all 4 cores. Look for an Asus which has an NVidia GPU that has at least 4GB of video memory and that has two HDD bays and either has 32GB of memory,or, can be upgraded to 32GB.
